What is the best way to research a business opportunity I was sent by mail?

The company is called executive systems of united success l.l.c.,and they are in Georgia.

What is the best way to research a business opportunity I was sent by mail?
1. Buy a credit report of the company from Dun and Bradstreet, if they have any. If they have, then it is a very positive sign of the business legitimacy.

2. Check with Mapquest if the address exists. Very simple - yet I have seen many bizopp providers with false addresses even though their website looks extremely well done. If the address is wrong, even Better Business Bureau cannot do anything about it

3. Check BBB if they have any complaints or negative marks on their record. If the company is a BBB member, then you can be more confident in dealing with them

4. Check the Web, examples would be ripoffreport.com and analyze with open minds (some put false complain)
Reply:Probably Googling it, that seems to be the best way to find out info about a company. If it's mailing thing...it's junk don't even do it...it's a scam. Actually anything that you didn't ask for information for and they just sent it is usually a scam. I say don't bother.
Reply:Also check the Federal Trade Commission website and, more importantly, call the Georgia Attorney General's office and ask where you can find out if the company has ever been cited/prosecuted by Georgia. The most likely violation would be violation of business opportunity disclosure laws or false / misleading advertising laws, and those are generally enforced by the state although sometimes by FTC if the violations are large enough.
